Three women found dead in home on 16th Street in Little Rock, police say

Little Rock police tweeted Thursday afternoon that they are "working a homicide at 4601 W. 16th Street."

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Little Rock police are investigating the deaths of three women who were found dead on Thursday from apparent gunshot wounds.

According to LRPD spokesperson Lt. Michael Ford, officers located the women inside a home at the intersection of West 16th Street and Cone Lane upon responding to a 911 call.

“Upon their arrival, they noticed blood coming out of the door,” Ford said. “They gained entry into the residence and observed three black females with what appears to be gunshot wounds.”

Multiple children were also inside the home. They are now safe, according to Ford.

Officers took a person-of-interest into custody outside the house. He was questioned by investigators Thursday afternoon.

“It's still early in the investigation,” Ford said. “That's something they're going to try to figure out -- what's the relationship, what the possible person of interest was doing there, and what led up to the shooting.”

Crime scene technicians spent hours on the scene searching for evidence. Meanwhile, a crowd of onlookers – neighbors, and others concerned about their loved ones – grew beyond the yellow tape.

“They are interviewing witnesses and trying to do some door-to-doors to see if anybody heard or saw anything,” Ford said.

These deaths bring Little Rock’s total number of homicides for the year to 21.
