Police: Two arrests made in homicide of Jadon Shackelford

The Little Rock Police Department has arrested two young men for the homicide of 21-year-old Jadon Shackelford that happened at Meriweather Park in January.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Little Rock Police Department has arrested two males for their involvement in a homicide that happened in January.

On January 8, 2022, officers responded to UAMS in reference to a shooting, and once they arrived they found a victim who was identified as Jadon Shackelford.

He later died due to his injuries.

About three months later, homicide detectives were able to get arrest warrants for Jordan Parkinson who then surrendered to detectives.

They continued to follow more leads and on Thursday detectives obtained arrest warrants for 17-year-old Grant Nichol and 18-year-old Evan Franklin.

Since then, both males have surrendered to detectives and were charged with 1st-degree murder and terroristic act.
