Four suspects are in custody and facing charges after one man was killed and at least nine people were injured in a shooting in Wynne, Arkansas, on Saturday night, according to Arkansas State Police (ASP).
The suspects — 23-year-old Quavarius Milon, 18-year-old Tommie Frost, 21-year-old Carl Washington, and 22-year-old Cameron Crawford — have been charged with first-degree murder, nine counts of first-degree battery and nine counts of engaging in violent criminal group activity. They are now at the Cross County Detention Center.
ASP said shots started at about 10 p.m. April 13 at a block party near the corner of Williams Avenue and Martin Luther King Street near a car wash.
Eye-witness Alfreddi Neal described the incident as “senseless.”
“I guess one guy said something to the other guy, and it just went sour," Neal said. "Guy started shooting.”
Two victims were run over by vehicles at the scene, according to ASP. The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division is reportedly investigating the incident at the request of the Wynne Police Department.
“Getting away, trying to flee from the incident,” Neal said.
While the party started at the car wash, neighbors and witnesses said it extended several blocks down Williams Avenue.
Investigators said they identified multiple people of interest and encouraged anyone with information about the incident to call Troop D at (870) 970-6082.
A 27-year-old resident of Wynne died at an area hospital after the shooting, according to ASP. Police said victims were male and female, with ages ranging from 24 to 49.
Lamar Johnson, who lives across the street from the car wash, said he is glad he wasn’t home during Saturday’s shooting.
“That shivers me inside,” he said. “That could’ve been us. We could’ve been outside. It was right there. Literally right there.”
He said this block party was supposed to be a way to bring the community together.
“That’s what they were trying to do,” Johnson said. “They tried to make the community come together, and we’re steadily just falling apart.”
ASP said victims were transported to St. Bernards CrossRidge Community Hospital in Wynne, Forrest City Medical Center as well as hospitals in Memphis and Jonesboro.
One victim was transported by helicopter to the Regional One Health Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, according to ASP. Authorities said they believe additional injured individuals may have been transported to hospitals in private vehicles.

ASP arrested the four suspects on Tuesday, April 16.
