Arkansas Tech University sees rise in freshman enrollment

The number of new freshmen enrolling at Arkansas Tech University for fall 2022 increased on its Russellville and Ozark campuses as compared to last year.

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — The number of new freshmen enrolling at Arkansas Tech University for fall 2022 increased on its Russellville and Ozark campuses.

Compared to one year ago, more freshmen choose ATU this year.

There are 1,455 first-time freshmen enrolled at ATU this fall—  1,130 of those students are enrolled at the Russellville campus and 325 are enrolled at the Ozark campus.

Freshmen enrollment increased by 4.2% overall, 1.9% on the Russellville campus, and 13.2% on the Ozark campus as compared to fall 2021.

Dr. Robin E. Bowen, president of ATU, expressed her excitement that so many incoming freshman found their fit at the university.

“These students faced a litany of extraordinary challenges in high school due to the pandemic, but they have persisted," said Dr. Bowen.

ATU reported a preliminary fall 2022 headcount enrollment of 9,431 students, including 7,697 students at the Russellville campus and 1,734 students at the Ozark campus.

"At Arkansas Tech, we are prepared to provide them with the lifelong intellectual, career, and personal wellness benefits that result from post-secondary educational attainment in an environment that emphasizes student access and success,” she added.

Overall enrollment at ATU for fall 2021 was 9,640 students.
