North Little Rock libraries invite teens to 'College Prep Night'

A financial expert from UA Little Rock will help teens learn about the requirements and how to fill out the FASFA application.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The transition from high school to college can be full of challenges— one of the biggest being financial aid applications.

This year, the North Little Rock Public Library’s Laman Teen Center wanted to make navigating this process a little easier.

Teens are invited to join "College Prep Night,” on Thursday, September 22, at 4:30 p.m.

Financial aid expert, Talethe Collins from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, will be present to help prospective college students navigate the financial aid process.

Collins will also help teens learn about the requirements and how to fill out the Free Application for Student Financial Aid, commonly known as FASFA.

At this event, teens will be able to ask questions and receive one-on-one assistance from Collins.

They will also receive take-home information to give their parents.

Chance Griebel, manager at Laman Teen Center, expressed high hopes for the event.

“Taletha will make the process of applying a little less overwhelming. She knows her stuff and does a great job giving students the information they need and a game plan for their financial aid application,” said Griebel.

The event will be free and open for any teens planning to attend college.
