LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On Monday, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock announced that in an effort to streamline the path to higher education for students in Central Arkansas, they have now signed direct admission agreements with three local school districts.
Little Rock School District (LRSD), North Little Rock School District (NLRSD), and Pulaski County Special School District (PCSSD) have all signed "Memorandums of Understandings" so that they can become direct admission partners with UA Little Rock.
Undergrad students from all three districts who apply to attend UA Little Rock will automatically have their application fee waived and a streamlined admission application process. UA Little Rock will get student transcripts from the State of Arkansas electronic transcript system which will remove the need for the school districts to provide transcripts.
“Recent student surveys indicate that nearly one-third of high school seniors have doubts about going to college due to financial reasons, are unsure how to get started, or are apprehensive about their ability to meet admission standards,” said Dr. Cody Decker, vice chancellor for student affairs and chief data officer at UA Little Rock. “The direct admission agreements specifically address these concerns by partnering with area school districts to streamline the college admission process and automatically awarding financial aid to eligible students.”
Students will be automatically considered for the Trojan Guarantee Scholarship which would cover tuition costs, and mandatory fees after state, federal, and institutional aid is applied which would result in a cost-free bachelor's degree for eligible students.
They will also be considered for UA Little Rock's Half-Off Scholarship which would cover half of tuition costs and course fees for up to two years, for eligible freshmen.
