The winners of the 2019 Little Rock Marathon both have Arkansas ties.
This years men's winner was Jeremy Provence, who grew up in Mountainburg, Ark., and now lives in Alabama. The female winner was Jenny Massanelli, who graduated from Central High School in Little Rock.
"I was running by myself so I just wanted to settle in and find a pace I could handle," Provence said. "I just grinded it out, mile by mile. My goal this year was to win, I just wanted to do that, so I am excited to win. I was just focusing on staying even with my splits, and it paid off."

"I like running in the cold and wet, so it didn't bother me. It was not as bad as I thought it would be," Massanelli said. "I was so happy, I could not believe it. I usually finish 7th or 6th and to be first, I feel like I'm going to wake up soon. Hometown girl - I can't wait to go to work tomorrow."
Both runners have run the Little Rock Marathon before but neither has ever won. Provence and Massanelli said the weather made it more difficult as they had to battle the rain and the cold.
