Where you can find face masks in Arkansas

Now that Arkansas is under a mask mandate to slow the spread of coronavirus, you might be wondering where you can stock up.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On Thursday, Governor Asa Hutchinson announced all Arkansas will be required to wear face masks when social distancing isn't possible.

Immediately, we got calls about where to find PPE on short notice.

Some people are making and selling their own masks, like Stephanie Cheatham and her family.

"My daughter actually learned how to sew in the process, and my kids learned how to flip the mask in so that I could add the filter pocket," said Cheatham.

Cheatham sells her masks through her Facebook page and other groups.

Another way of finding local people making/selling masks is to check out your city and county groups on Facebook. Hot Spring County Swap Shop for example has several people selling face coverings.

You can also make your own masks out of things like bandanas and old t-shirts.

Stores are also selling face masks.

The Crown Shop in Little Rock has been ordering masks since May. Operations Manager Wendy Ramsey says they've sold more than 2,000 masks.

Ramsey is ordering more masks, especially since the mandate will require more people to have face coverings.

Here is a list of other stores with a stock of face coverings:

  • Walmart
  • Sam's Club
  • Kroger
  • Harbor Freight Tools
  • Edward's Food Giant
  • Ollie's Bargain Outlet
  • Target
  • Trivia Marketing in Little Rock
  • Mrs. Polka Dot in Little Rock
  • Cintas in Maumelle
  • South Main Creative in Little Rock
  • A Perfect Bloom Florist in Beebe
