1 dead, 3 injured after shooting in North Little Rock, suspect arrested

North Little Rock police say they've arrested one person after a fatal shooting in the 100 block of Curtis Sykes Drive.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The North Little Rock Police Department is investigating a shooting in the 100 block of Curtis Sykes Drive that killed one person and injured three around 5:52 p.m. on Friday.

Police said they located the victims, all of whom were suffering from "at least one gunshot wound" when they arrived. One of the victims, later identified as 33-year-old Santana Lash ReynaMartinez of North Little Rock, was pronounced dead at the scene, while first responders took the other three to the hospital for treatment.

As of 3 p.m. on Saturday, North Little Rock police said one victim was released from the hospital, while the other two are in stable condition.

Authorities said witnesses provided a description of the suspect, 46-year-old James Booker, who they tracked down to an abandoned house in the 1300 block of Magnolia.

Booker was taken into custody "without incident," and officers took him to the North Little Rock Justice Center for questioning. During the interview, police said Booker "admitted to detectives his involvement in the shooting" of ReynaMartinez and the three additional victims.

North Little Rock detectives also learned the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute and that "all parties involved knew one another."

Booker was identified as the lone shooter in the investigation and was transported to the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility, where he is being held without bond.

North Little Rock police said Booker was charged with one count of capital murder, three counts of attempted capital murder, one count of felon in possession of a firearm and four counts of terroristic act.
