DESHA CO., Ark. (KTHV) - A Dumas man who won $1 million in the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery on Monday is facing rape charges.
According to Monticello Live, 38-year-old Adam Patton was arrested in July 2016 for allegedly having "deviate sexual relations" with his teenage son for four years, starting in 2012.
Patton was held in a Dumas jail for over three months until being bonded out.
Patton won the $1 million playing a $20 Arkansas Millions instant ticket. When he picked up his check, he told personnel at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery he first told his son about the big win.
He said he will use the money to take care of his family.
His trial is set for May of this year and court documents show he is facing three counts of felony rape.
