STUTTGART, Ark. (KTHV) – Monday marked one year since the disappearance of Stuttgart teenager Cassie Compton.
The investigation into her disappearance has few leads, but the community isn't losing hope.
"You can run into bad situations when you're out there, especially a 15-year-old little girl," said Ashley Mack, who has been actively trying to keep Compton's memory alive on social media. "I felt drawn to her and I just kind of stepped in."
On Monday night, her Facebook supporters asked everyone to post a picture of a lit candle on the "Find Cassie Compton" Facebook page. Just after 8 p.m., people from all over the country posted pictures of their porch lights on in hopes that Cassie will soon find her way home.
"There's so much I wanna do and I can't do," said supporter Brandy Bitner. "I have a daughter, she's 19. And it could have been her and I'd want people helping me."
Compton has blonde hair and blue eyes. She stands around 5'3" and weighs 100 pounds. If you have any information on her whereabouts, you're asked to call (870) 673-1414, or leave an anonymous tip (870) 512-8686.
