IZARD COUNTY, Ark. — On the afternoon of October 15, the Izard County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about a 1-year-old child being struck by a vehicle in the 3900 block of Lunenburg Road outside of Melbourne.
Deputies responded to the scene along with Melbourne first responders, Vital Link, and Survival Flight. Life-saving efforts were performed, however, the child succumbed to injuries.
Foul lay is not suspected at this time, and the incident is being investigated as an accident. No names will be released at this time.
