Police investigating after 15-year-old killed by train in Beebe

According to reports, a 15-year-old freshman at Beebe High School was found dead in an apparent accident on the train tracks near Railroad Street.

BEEBE, Ark. — According to reports, a 15-year-old died in an accident on the train tracks near Railroad Street in Beebe.

The Beebe Police Department and Beebe School District Police Department responded to the scene around 9:30 a.m. and located a 15-year-old male juvenile who had been struck by the train.

Medical professionals determined that the juvenile was deceased at the scene and informed their family.

The Beebe School District released the following statement:

"It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of a freshman at Beebe High School. He was a cherished member of our Beebe School District family, and his loss deeply affects our entire community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. We extend our heartfelt condolences and support to all who are grieving."

Counseling services will be available through the district for any students and parents who need support. 

The Union Pacific Railroad Police are leading an investigation into this incident. More information will be released once it's available.
