LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- The major tornado that hit College Station March 1st, 1997 claimed the lives of four people.

Chandra Neyland’s mother was one of those who lost their life, “it seemed like everything went up and it happened in a matter of five seconds.”

Devastation she said she remembers all too well, “me and my mother were under our trailer that we stayed in, my cousin Jerry was in a tree, and my cousin Gilessa well the storm had carried her all the way up the street. My whole right side of my body was crushed and my femur bone. I had to learn how to walk again because my left leg was broken too.”
