LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- In 1994, a young mother of two disappeared. Weeks later, her body was found in a shallow grave.
Her murderer, Marcel Williams, is set to die on Monday night.
"You finally got what you deserved."
Those are the words that Carolyn Moore would say to Marcel Williams, the man found guilty of murdering her daughter, 22-year-old Stacy Errickson.
“It’ll give me peace that he’s gone and can’t ever get out and do this again because he will,” said Moore.
Errickson was on her way to work when she stopped at a Jacksonville gas station. Williams forced his way into her car, robbed her, raped her, and then suffocated her. Her body was found weeks later.
When Williams asked for clemency, he said, “to those I hurt, I’m sorry is not enough."
Williams attacked several other women, including Dina Windle, who offered forgiveness
“This man has turned his life around and he’s found God."
Williams’ eighth grade teacher Suzanne Ritchie remembers him as a young boy.
“Oh, Marcel. Everyone sees him as this big huge person I said I see a little skinny 14-year-old boy with a big smile and sad desperate eyes," said Ritchie.
She says he never had a chance. Williams was abused by his mother and neglected as a child.
“I’m sorry everybody let you down, Marcel from the moment you were born, everybody let you down."
Williams admits to taking Errickson's life. “I wish I could take it back, but I can’t."
Errickson was a mother of two, working at a center for disabled children.
“She had her mind made up to be better and make a life better for those kids and she was doing it,” said Moore.
Trista Wussick was babysitting Errickson's children when she disappeared.
"Marcel Williams is my boogie man. He doesn't deserve mercy.”
Now the justice Arkansas promised is ready to be served.
“I want front row and front center. I said I want to watch him go down,” said Moore.
