"Code Orange" air quality advisory issued in Arkansas

According to officials, harmful air particulates detected in central Arkansas could make outdoor activities unhealthy for certain groups of people.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment, Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has issued a “Code Orange” Air Quality Advisory for the state.

According to officials, ambient air particulate matter concentrations detected in central Arkansas could make outdoor activities unhealthy for children and adults, and for individuals in sensitive groups.

People have been encouraged to take extra precautions, including limiting prolonged outdoor exertion.
