FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas retained another impact player on Friday when wide receiver Andrew Armstrong announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he plans to return for the 2024 season.
Armstrong, who led the Razorbacks in receiving yards (764), touchdowns (5) and receptions (56), joins defensive lineman Landon Jackson as key Hogs who announced their return this week.
"I want to thank the Arkansas Razorback coaching staff and fans for taking a chance on me and believing in me," Armstrong said. "This year wasn't what any of us expected, so I feel like it's only right for me to come back to Fayetteville and finish my college career here."
The redshirt senior solidified himself as quarterback KJ Jefferson's go-to receiver in his lone season with the Razorbacks in 2023. Armstrong, a transfer from Division II's Texas A&M-Commerce, has secured at least one catch in 28 consecutive contests dating back to the 2021 season.
"I want to thank God for the opportunity he has given me to play the sport of football at the level I do," Armstrong said. "I also want to thank my mom and dad for always pushing me to be not only the best player, but also the best person I can be."
Armstrong played in all 12 games and recorded a season-high 103 receiving yards on three catches in a 39-36 overtime victory over Florida on Nov. 4.
