CONWAY COUNTY, Ark. — The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) is preparing to begin construction to relocate 2.4 miles of Highway 113 in Morrilton.

The $9.7 million project to relocate the roadway will feature two, 12-foot travel lanes with six-foot paved shoulders.

ARDOT officials will join members of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, Arkansas Highway Commission, elected officials, and local dignitaries on Monday, August 12 at 11 a.m. for a groundbreaking ceremony at the Green Bay Packaging, Inc. soccer field.

The soccer field is across the street from Green Bay Packaging, Inc., Arkansas Kraft Division at 338 Highway 113 in Morrilton.

This project was made possible because of a partnering agreement with Governor Sanders, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, the Arkansas Highway Commission, Green Bay Packaging, the City of Morrilton, and Faulkner, Conway, Johnson, Pope, Saline, and White counties.

“This partnering project emphasizes how much progress can be made when we all work together,” said ARDOT Director Lorie Tudor. “It is unique in that such a large number of partners participating.”

Work on Highway 113 is scheduled to be completed by late 2025.
