Ark. man arrested after entering roof to rob gas station

A Beebe man was arrested on Tuesday for robbing a gas station after entering through a vent in the roof of the building.

BEEBE, Ark. (KTHV) – A Beebe man was arrested on Tuesday for robbing a gas station after entering through a vent in the roof of the building.

On January 29, officers with the Beebe Police Department responded to a commercial burglary at Jordan’s Kwik Stop on Dewitt Henry Drive.

Video surveillance showed the suspect entering the gas station through a rooftop vent and obtaining an undisclosed amount of money.

Witnesses viewed the surveillance video and identified the suspect as 30-year-old Charley Ried. On Tuesday, police were able to locate and detain him during a traffic stop.

Ried was taken into custody and charged with a felony offense of commercial burglary. He was booked into the White County Detention Center with a bond of $15,000.

His court date has been set for March 7 at 9 a.m. in White County Circuit Court.
