LINCOLN, Neb. — Arkansas continued to make history at the NCAA volleyball tournament on Thursday.
Graduate outside hitter Jill Gillen had 20 kills on 46 swings with just two errors to help the third-seeded Razorbacks take down second-seeded Kentucky 3-2 to advance to the program's first-ever Elite Eight.
Gillen recorded a .391 hitting percentage, two aces and 12 digs. She was one of four Hogs to finish with a double-double, joining Taylor Head, Maggie Cartwright and Hannah Hogue.
Junior libero Courtney Jackson was an anchor for the Razorbacks' defense with a team-high 19 digs, while junior middle blocker Sania Petties added five blocks – two solo and three block assists.
It was Arkansas's first win over Kentucky since 2012.
