Arkansas men arrested on multiple gun, drug charges

Arkansas officials announced that two men were arrested on several charges, including illegal gun and drug possession in a multi-agency operation.

SEARCY, Ark — Two suspects have been arrested after Arkansas officials launched a multi-jurisdiction investigation involving a reported kidnapping, aggravated assault, and torture of a Searcy resident in the Pulaski County area.

33-year-old Renford Williams of Jacksonville was developed as a person of interest. According to reports, Williams had an active trafficking warrant out of the Cabot Police Department.

Officials located Williams on Wednesday, June 26 during a traffic stop on Highway 67/167. During the stop, officers found approximately one pound of methamphetamine and approximately 1000 fentanyl-laced pills (blue M30s).

Searcy police activated its Special Response Team and executed a search warrant at Williams’ residence in Beebe, where they seized the following items:

  • 16 guns, including three that were stolen, two defaced, and one with a switch that made it fully automatic.
  • Three pounds of methamphetamine, 600 fentanyl pills (blue M30), one ounce of cocaine, and two pounds of marijuana.
  • Two tasers
  • Multiple digital scales and miscellaneous paraphernalia.

Williams was charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, 16 counts of possession of firearms by certain persons, two counts of possession of defaced firearms, maintaining drug premises, three counts of theft by receiving, possession of a machine gun in the course of a criminal offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Williams was given a $1,000,000.00 bond.

18-year-old Tony Robinson of Little Rock was also arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, maintaining a drug premises, and theft by receiving.

Robinson was given a $250,000.00 bond.

This investigation is currently ongoing and additional charges are still pending. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

This investigation was conducted by the Central Arkansas Drug Task Force (CADTF), Cabot Narcotics Unit, Arkansas State Police Troop B, 2nd Judicial Drug Task Force, the Arkansas Community Corrections (ACC) Intensive Supervision Program (ISP), and the White County Sheriff’s Department.
