LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Arkansas State Capitol Christmas Lighting Ceremony is returning on the first weekend of December as Arkansans start to soak in the holiday spirit!

The announcement came from Secretary of State John Thurston as he shared that the event will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7.

The event will celebrate the 86th anniversary of the event. The ceremony will also feature musical performances by Miss Arkansas Camille Cathey and the Shuffles and Ballet II Dance Studio.

Additionally, the ceremony will also feature other special guests like the one-and-only Santa Claus, Miss Teen Arkansas Peyton Bolling, and others.

After the ceremony and fireworks show, those in attendance are welcome to walk inside of the Capitol and view the Christmas decoration on the interior. While exploring, visitors will also notice Santa's workshop, a LEGO exhibit, and other treats.

The ceremony is a free, family-friendly event that's open to all of Arkansas.
