LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — In honor of Arbor Day, each Friday through April 26, you can get up to five free tree seedlings from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture.
Free Tree Fridays has aimed to benefit both the land and its surrounding community since it began in 2021 when Grant County Ranger Troy Wood requested an Arbor Day celebration giveaway in his county.
The Arkansas Department of Agriculture's Forestry Division hosts these giveaways at 21 different locations across the state. The full list can be viewed here.
Tree species will vary based on location, but all are native Arkansas hardwood species. There is a limit of five seedlings per person, however, additional seedlings can be purchased in larger quantities from Baucum Nursery.
