LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - True outdoorsmen will have a chance to catch some deals online until September 21. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is currently listing a wide swath of vehicles up for auction on the website GovDeals.com.
AGFC at the moment has 12 boats and five trucks up for auction. They also list other items like office furniture, ice machines and marine equipment. AGFC said they've already sold equipment to 12 other states. The items being auctioned off is an effort to reduce the inventory the commission has.
"We switched to the online auction a few months ago in an effort to let more people bid on the equipment and to increase the amount of money we received from the auctions," said Leonard Dean, operations and facility manager for the AGFC. "The funds derived from the auction are reinvested in purchasing replacement inventory, so every penny we make extra is one less penny of taxpayer money we have to use to keep our assets in proper working order."
If you're interested in viewing the items in person you can see them at AGFC Headquarters at 2 Natural Resources Drive in Little Rock from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on September 16. You can also schedule appointments by contacting Rick Walker at (501) 223-6324 or email richard.walker@agfc.ar.gov.
