FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Linebacker Jaheim Thomas is one and done at Arkansas as the redshirt junior linebacker entered the transfer portal on Saturday.
Thomas, 6-4, 240 pounds, transferred to the Razorbacks in May earlier this year after playing three seasons at Cincinnati. In his lone year at Arkansas, Thomas led the team with 90 total stops, including 39 solo tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and two pass breakups.
Additionally, the Ohio native finished fifth in the SEC in total tackles, posting a season-high 13 in a 34-31 loss to LSU in Baton Rouge on Sept. 23.
Although Thomas found his footing early in first-year defensive coordinator Travis Williams' scheme, his production fell off in the season's final six games.
First six games of 2023: 59 total stops, 25 solo tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 3 sacks
Last six games of 2023: 31 total stops, 13 solo tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks
Arkansas has now lost its top two tacklers from the 2023 season. Chris "Pooh" Paul Jones, the team's second-leading tackler, transferred to Ole Miss on Dec. 8.
To combat the losses, the Hogs added three linebackers during the 2024 early signing period — Xavian Sorey Jr. (Transfer, Georgia), Wyatt Simmons (Harding Academy) and Justin Logan (Kell High School, Georgia).
