LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — As of Tuesday morning, Tropical Storm Francine has been churning in the Gulf of Mexico.
Reports show that it is gaining strength and is expected to reach hurricane status sometime on Tuesday before making landfall in Louisiana on Wednesday.
Due to this, the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas decided to dispatch 55 lineworkers, utility vehicles, and some construction equipment to assist an electric company in Central City, Louisiana.
They were dispatched from Little Rock to help with the power restoration efforts anticipated from Tropical Storm Francine. Additional crews are also on stand-by should they be needed.
