Multiple Arkansas lottery players take home top prizes

Several lottery players in Arkansas and their families are feeling lucky after they were able to take home top prizes.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Several Arkansas Scholarship Lottery players are feeling lucky after they were able to take home top prizes won by playing on instant games.

James G. of Sherwood claimed an $85,000 Natural State Jackpot prize last week. The winning ticket for the January 11 drawing was sold at an E-Z Mart on Main Street in Little Rock. The winning numbers were 2, 17, 22, 24 and 39.

He's an avid lottery player and decided to stop at a gas station to buy five Quick Pick tickets while on his way home from getting his wife's car repaired.

The next day, he checked the AR Lottery + Club app and was shocked when he saw he had won a prize so big he needed to make a trip to the ASL claim center.

"My heart is still beating," he explained.

He kept the big secret for a while and then surprised his family.

James hopes that his family will celebrate and pray together— which is a practice that they began after a previous big win. He plans to use his winnings to pay bills.

Meanwhile, Kimberly Peters of Hamburg claimed a $50,000 prize by playing on the $20 $50,000 Blast instant game. She bought her ticket at 1133 Highway 278 LLC in Monticello while on her way to church.

Peters said she was hoping to win $5,000 but instead was able to walk away winning the top prize, and also plans to use her winnings to pay off bills.

The next winners were a married couple from Stephens who also won the top prize on the $50,000 Blast instant game.

The couple bought their ticket as part of their daily lottery-playing routine at the Stephens Pit Stop. They plan on using their prize money to share with their family and to take care of other expenses.

There are still twelve top prizes remaining for the $50,000 Blast instant game. For more information, please click here.
