Arkansas man arrested after being found with hundreds of prescription pills during motorcycle chase

The Baxter County Sheriff's Office arrested a 39-year-old rural Mountain Home man after he was found with over 200 fentanyl, oxycodone, and roxicodine pills.

BAXTER COUNTY, Ark. — On Monday morning, a man from rural Mountain Home was arrested on several charges by the Baxter County Sheriff's Office after a motorcycle pursuit and foot chase.

According to reports, 39-year-old Charles Matthew Franks (who also goes by Sir Charles Matthew Francke) was driving his motorcycle at 'high speed' along Baxter CR 35, when a sheriff's deputy on the same road determined that Franks was going at about 70mph.

The deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the motorcycle increased in speed to about 90mph as the deputy was behind him. Franks failed to stop at a stop sign and briefly went into the air.

He then ran away as the deputy chased behind. Another deputy arrived to help and a taser was deployed in an attempt to stop Franks. The deputies were successful in stopping him and he was taken into custody.

During a search of the area, deputies found a black bag that had been thrown on the roof of a building, and inside were 'numerous pills, syringes, methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, a scale, and a large quantity of cash.'

The contents inside the bag amounted to:

$12,990 U. S. Dollars
141 oxycodone pills
14 roxicodine pills
66 fentanyl capsules
17.38 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
59.4 grams of methamphetamine

Franks was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center pending filing of charges for felony fleeing by vehicle, misdemeanor fleeing on foot, and misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and resisting arrest.

He also faces several drug and drug paraphernalia charges.
