UPDATE: Hot Springs murder suspect, 21-year-old Demetrius Tyree Perry's, charge has been upgraded to first-degree murder, instead of second degree.
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Police say a 20-year-old man has been arrested on a 2nd-degree murder charge in the shooting death of another man in Hot Springs.
Cpl. Kirk Zaner said in a news release Wednesday that Demetrius Perry was arrested for the April 6 death of 32-year-old Charles David Hill.
Perry is jailed without bond and court records do not list an attorney for him.
Police say Hill was found with a gunshot wound to the stomach and later died at a hospital. Police say Perry was later found at a Malvern hospital where he was being treated for a gunshot wound to the arm.
Zaner says investigators believe Perry and Hill were fighting when Perry fired a handgun, with the bullet going through his arm and striking Hill in the stomach.
