Arkansas man wanted for attempted capital murder arrested in Texas

On Monday, September 2, officials in Seagoville, Texas arrested an Arkansas man with a warrant for attempted capital murder from the Pine Bluff Police Department.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. — On Monday, September 2, police in Seagoville, Texas arrested an Arkansas man wanted for attempted capital murder in Pine Bluff.

According to reports, an officer noticed two suspicious vehicles in the parking lot of a closed community pool and approached a male and a female in one of the vehicles.

The male was identified as 27-year-old Chaderious Avery. During a routine check, officials were notified by dispatch that Avery had a warrant issued by the Pine Bluff Police Department for attempted capital murder and a parole violation related to a prior charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

On October 5, 2023, Avery was involved in a shoot-out in Pine Bluff that was witnessed by a police officer. He then approached her driver's side window and shot at her before fleeing the scene. He was last tracked by cell phone heading towards Texas.

After Texas police confirmed Avery’s warrant, he was placed in custody without incident.
