Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts displaying state's first Formula 1 exhibit

The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts is displaying a groundbreaking exhibit allowing guests to experience the thrill of Formula 1 like never before.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Start your engines and check your gears because the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (AMFA) is displaying an accelerating new exhibit.

Beyond the F1 Circuit: Artistry and Speed with Williams Racing is a brand new, first-of-its-kind display at AMFA. Sponsored by Stephens, the exhibit takes museum-goers behind the scenes into the world of Formula 1 racing, showcasing the cross between art and auto.

"We've always said the museum is a place for everyone, and I think certainly F1 car is showing that the museum is even a place for people who love racing and cars," AMFA Director Victoria Ramirez said.

Sitting in the atrium of the AMFA, an exact replica of a Williams Racing car, helmet and suit catches the eyes of many right as you walk through the door. Up close looks of intricate designs and engineering bring out the artistic element of how every instrumental piece of material plays a part into the unique elements of F1.

"When we see an f1 car, we see a work of art. It's a very fast work of art," Ramirez said. "We see a work of art, so it made sense to bring the car to the museum and place it right in the middle of our atrium."

Stephens CEO and Chairman President Warren Stephens said he's excited to bring the "groundbreaking exhibition" to central Arkansas.

In addition to the display, visitors can watch an exclusive film that breaks down the step-by-step process of what it took to make the piece possible and an in-depth look into the design elements that make speeds of 210 miles per hour possible.

AMFA will continue to display the bright blue beauty until Sept. 22.
