Arkansas RB Raheim Sanders to enter transfer portal

The Razorbacks are losing a playmaker as All-SEC running back Raheim "Rocket" Sanders plans to enter the transfer portal.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas running back Raheim "Rocket" Sanders is the latest Razorback to enter the transfer portal, the junior told On3Sports his plans on Tuesday.

"It has been one of the most special distinctions in representing the state of Arkansas and the Razorbacks for the last three years," Sanders said. "After much prayer and reflection, It's time for me to move on to the next chapter in my life. In order for me to reach further goals, it's best for me to enter my name in the transfer portal with one year of remaining eligibility."

Sanders, who missed six games this season due to injuries, rushed for 209 yards and two touchdowns while adding 10 catches for 75 yards.

"To the entire Razorback staff, my teammates, and all of Razorback Nation thanks for supporting me throughout my collegiate career," Sanders said in a statement. "Thank you to the Razorback educational support staff for your support in helping me be on track to graduate in the spring of 2024 within three years of my initial enrollment."

In 2022, Sanders finished with the seventh most rushing yards in the nation, recording 1,443 yards and 10 touchdowns, with 28 receptions for 271 yards and two scores en route to claiming first-team All-SEC praise.

"I would like to thank god for giving me the ability to play the game I love. I've been blessed beyond measure with all the opportunities I've been afforded," Sanders said. "Lastly, I want to thank my family for supporting me throughout it all with your unconditional love. I've grown and strived to carry myself with honor that you would be proud of daily."

Sanders joined the Hogs in 2021 as a four-star recruit from Rockledge High in Brevard County, Fla, and immediately made an impact with 578 rushing yards and five touchdowns while also contributing 11 receptions for 109 yards and a score to earn SEC All-Freshman honors.
