CRITTENDEN COUNTY, Ark. — During a 33-hour-long police patrol in Crittenden County, there were 372 citations issued by Arkansas State Police and 23 people arrested for various charges including some felony charges for possession of drugs, guns, fleeing, and DWI.
Police seized over 10 firearms, recovered two stolen vehicles, and confiscated several illegal drugs including fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, and prescription drugs.
During the operation troopers encountered/issued the following:
- 11 arrests DWI arrests
- 29 citations for speeding
- 7 citations for seat belt violations
- 7 citations for child restraint violations
- 5 vehicle pursuits
- 40 hazardous citations
- 201 non-hazardous citations
The operation was a joint operation conducted on May 9 and 10 by the Highway Patrol Division of ASP, West Memphis Police Department, Marion Police Department, and the Crittenden County Sheriff's Office.
"During those two days in East Arkansas, ASP played a critical role in protecting human life and property. The people of Arkansas look to law enforcement to carry out special operations like these to maintain the peace and safety of the communities we are dedicated to serving," said ASP Col. Mike Hagar.
In total, throughout the course of the operation, Arkansas State Police made 795 contacts with individuals.
