FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas guard Taliah Scott earned her fourth consecutive SEC Freshman of the Week honor, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Scott is the first women's basketball player in league history to win four consecutive Freshman of the Week awards.
The honor comes after Scott averaged 30 points, four rebounds and 1.5 assists this past week.
In the Razorbacks' 100-60 victory over Louisiana Tech, the freshman shot 12-of-16 (75 percent) from the field, including 5-of-8 (62.5 percent) from behind the arc and finished with 29 points.
Three days later, Scott followed up that performance with 31 points and recorded a career-high six three-pointers, six rebounds and two assists in a 74-70 loss to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, the Razorbacks' first loss to an in-state school in nearly two decades.
Scott leads the SEC in scoring and is fifth in the NCAA with 24.5 points per game. She also leads the conference in free throws made (61), free throws attempted (73), field goal attempts (201) and three-point attempts (89).
Scott is now tied with Arkansas junior guard Samara Spencer, who has four SEC Freshman of the Week awards. She is one away from tying the record of five held by Arkansas redshirt sophomore guard Saylor Poffenbarger and former guard C'eria Ricketts.
Arkansas returns to action against Samford on Saturday at Simmons Bank Arena in North Little Rock. Coverage begins at 12:30 p.m. Central on SEC Network Plus.
It is the first game in North Little Rock for the Razorbacks women's basketball team since December 18, 2021, when Arkansas defeated Central Arkansas 82-44.
