Arkansas woman claims $250K lottery prize

A woman from Smithville claimed a $250,000 lottery prize after matching all five numbers on the December 14 drawing.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A woman from Smithville claimed a $250,000 lottery prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center for her win on the December 14 drawing.

Melody Carmical ordered the winning Natural State Jackpot (NSJ) ticket online and won by matching all five numbers drawn with a special set of numbers “angel” numbers.

“I chose numbers representing faith and new beginnings,” Carmical told lottery officials. “I select these numbers every time I play the lottery.”

She first told her husband about the win and plans to put the prize money towards bills and her retirement.

Retailers receive a 1% commission from the sales of winning lottery products. Player’s Café, the retailer associated with tickets bought on Lotto.com, will receive a $2,500 commission check for selling the winning ticket.
