LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — An Arkansas woman has now pleaded guilty for her involvement in Medicaid fraud.
According to reports, 52-year-old Shaona Mizell of Paragould was a personal care aide who billed Medicaid for many months of care that she allegedly did not provide.
After entering a guilty plea of Medicaid fraud on January 23, she was sentenced to one year of probation, a $200 fine, and the payment of nearly $4,000 in restitution to the Arkansas Medicaid Program.
"Earlier this week, defendant Mizell pleaded guilty to Medicaid Fraud, a class A misdemeanor. Protecting the dollars of hardworking Arkansas taxpayers from fraudsters is a duty I take seriously. Those who think they can get away with Medicaid Fraud should think again," said Attorney General Tim Griffin.
