Arkansas woman wins $130K lottery jackpot

A Fort Smith resident recently won the $130,000 Natural State Jackpot and claimed her prize for the January 31 drawing.

FORT SMITH, Ark. — A Fort Smith resident recently won the $130,000 Natural State Jackpot and claimed her prize on February 5.

Yevonda Frachiseur purchased the winning ticket at J-Mart on 3627 Midland Blvd. in Fort Smith for the January 31 drawing.

Frachiseur is a daily lottery player who typically buys ten days’ worth of tickets at a time.

Ever since winning a prize from a Quick Pick Ticket, she decided to use those same numbers for all her future plays.

“I always think of it like lightning strikes or getting hit by a car,” the winner said. “Just keep using the same [numbers] over and over again.”

Her strategy proved successful! She won $300 on the January 29 drawing, then hit the $130,000 jackpot on the same ticket that following Wednesday.

She was unaware of her win until she checked the lottery website that weekend.

“No way,” Yevonda thought. “I’m looking at this wrong.”

She immediately called her children, who initially thought she must be mistaken. Frachiseur plans to use her prize money to take care of some necessary home repairs.

However, she plans to keep playing the lottery and isn't ruling out an extravagant vacation for a future win.

“When I come back after I win $214 million, we’ll be having a completely different discussion,” she joked.
