Arkansas’s unemployment rate remains at 3.3% for September

Data shows that Arkansas's unemployment rate remained stable at 3.3% between the months of August and September

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On Tuesday, the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services, Workforce Policy and Innovation, along with the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced that the unemployment rate in Arkansas remained stable at 3.3% between the months of August and September.

 Across the United States, the unemployment rate declined by one-tenth of a percentage point going down from 4.2% in August to 4.1% in September.

The civilian labor force in Arkansas increased by 3,397. This resulted in 4,341 additional people being employed and in 944 less unemployed Arkansans. The civilian labor force and employment both remain and record high numbers.

If we were to compare to September 2023, there are currently 29,007 more people who are employed in Arkansas today. 

The labor force participation rate in Arkansas rose from 57.6% in September 2023 to 58.1% in September 2024.
