PINE BLUFF, Ark. — The Pine Bluff Police Department has now made an arrest in a fatal shooting that happened on Sunday.
According to reports, just before 6:30 a.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Cottonwood for reports of a shooting. Once they arrived they found a man with an apparent gunshot wound on the ground in front of a building.
The victim identified as 25-year-old Jmarcus Giles was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.
Police were able to identify 22-year-old Datreon Morris Sr. as the suspected shooter in the incident. Reports state that Giles intervened in a 'domestic incident' between a family member and Morris which then resulted in Morris shooting Giles.
He then fled the scene with another guy but later turned himself in to police at around 3:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
He will be booked into the W.C. Dub Brassell Detention Center on a capital murder charge.
