Police arrest suspect in homicide at North Little Rock apartment complex

The North Little Rock Police Department has made an arrest in the homicide of a 42-year-old woman on September 10.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The North Little Rock Police Department has made an arrest in a homicide that happened on September 10.

According to reports, the incident happened just after 2:00 p.m. at the Overbrook Apartments in the 5900 block of JFK Blvd. 

Officers first got a call about a possibly deceased person and once they arrived at an apartment, they found a deceased female later identified as 42-year-old Cassandra Lusk with visible trauma on her body.

Her death was ruled as a homicide and detectives began an investigation into what happened. 

Police were able to later identify 44-year-old Ryan Cohens as the suspect in the incident.

Detectives acquired a capital murder warrant for his arrest, and Cohens was arrested at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility where he was already being held on other unrelated charges.

His first court appearance is scheduled for October 24 at 8:30 a.m.
