ASP operation in northwest Arkansas leads to multiple arrests, citations issues

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — On August 23, Arkansas State Police made a series of arrests and issued citations during an eight-hour operation in Northwest Arkansas.

Between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m., troopers arrested 5 people for driving while intoxicated, made 39 criminal arrests, and 33 arrests for people with outstanding warrants.

Additionally, officials issued 47 speeding citations, 29 for traffic violations, 114 for non-hazardous traffic violations, four for not wearing seat belts, and three for not correctly restraining children.

During this operation, troopers initiated two pursuits, and one person was arrested for possessing illegal narcotics. Troopers made contact with 456 individuals during the initiative, and 241 citations were issued in total.
