VAN BUREN, Ark. — Two people were taken into custody by Arkansas State Police after several illegal substances were found during a traffic stop on I-40.
According to reports, at about 2:00 p.m. on July 31, troopers pulled over a vehicle traveling eastbound on Interstate 40.
After a search of the vehicle, they found 18 pints of promethazine/codeine syrup, 7,000 fentanyl pills, and illegal marijuana.
Both the driver of the vehicle and the passenger were taken into custody, and investigators were told by the pair that they had been traveling from California to Memphis, Tennessee.
