LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — This week we’re at Caked Up: Cupcakes and Ice Cream in Little Rock's historic Heights neighborhood to check out some unique flavors and delicious desserts. And if you can’t pick just one sweet treat, no worries because you don’t have to!
"Our cupcakes are freshly baked every morning. We also do cake pops and cookies. We even have a treat for your pups too," said Maggie Zandier, general manager.
As one could imagine, Caked Up sees several kids visiting every single day. Maggie said that the rush is on in the afternoon.
"Especially when they come after school and get their ice cream. It’s funny many parents say you can only get ice cream or a cupcake. So they definitely take their time," She described. “We have about 30 different flavors. A lot of kids come in and get the 'Unicorn' or 'Superman'. They love the color and everything about it.”
Maggie comes to Arkansas from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As homegrown Arkansans know, the first thing you have to teach a new resident is how to call the Hogs!
“I have not, no not yet," Maggie laughed.
She may not be able to call the Hogs just yet, but Maggie and company have plenty of dessert options for customers.
“We have around 17 signature cupcakes that we have in the display every day. This week we actually have 'Fruity Pebbles'.”
Caked Up has two locations— one in Little Rock and one in Conway.
