Woman injured after acquaintance opens fire on car

A woman has been injured after an acquaintance opened fire on her car, according to Benton police.

BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) – A woman has been injured after an acquaintance opened fire on her car, according to Benton police.

The police department said that Friday around 9:11 p.m., officer were called to the Saline Memorial Emergency Room in regards to a gunshot victim. Roderick Spears, 21, was later identified as a suspect and arrested. He was charged with first-degree battery, possession of a firearm by certain persons (felon), and committing a terroristic act.

A police report showed that the woman said she was driving by a home on the corner of Tulane Street and Princeton Street when Spears apparently stepped out of a car at the home and shot at her car.

The woman was struck in the arm and went to the hospital for treatment.

Spears is also an active parolee out of the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections and is being held on a warrant out of their agency.
