BENTON, Ark. — Update: Officials with Arkansas State Police have confirmed Joseph Alexander was taken into custody by a trooper in North Little Rock at approximately 11:30 a.m. He is now back in the custody of the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
The Benton Police Department is searching for a felon escapee from Benton County who was on hold for a psych evaluation.
According to reports, 28-year-old Joseph Alexander escaped from the Rivendell Behavioral Health facility at around 8:15 p.m. on Monday night.
Authorities said that they're looking into every lead that they can in order to locate him.
"We are looking into every lead we possibly can pull in video footage, though it is a little harder because he's not from around here," said Benton Police Lieutenant, Quinton Jackson.
Alexander is described as a male with blonde hair, and light-colored eyes. Police say that he will be wearing green paper scrubs and will likely have no shoes on.
He is considered dangerous and has multiple felony charges out of Benton County. Police are urging anyone who may see him to not approach him.
"Be on the lookout. So keep your car doors locked, keep your house locked up, you know, don't approach just anyone on the street, you know, especially if they're trying to flag you down," Lt. Jackson said.
Alexander was last seen in the area near Springhill Road and Highway 5.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts or who hears/sees anything suspicious on their property is urged to call 911.
