BRYANT, Ark. — On the morning of September 18, the Bryant Police Department charged a student after a threat was made against Bethel Middle School.

While the nature of the threat has not been released, both police and school officials have been taking the matter seriously.

According to reports, the incident first came to light after a report of the threat was made to police. After an investigation, officials charged a juvenile student with six counts of communicating a false alarm, six counts of terroristic threatening, and six counts of harassing communications.

Since then, Bryant police has increased security on campus.

In light of an increased amount of threats made to schools across central Arkansas, multiple superintendents of school districts have urged parents to talk to their kids about the seriousness of making threats.

Anyone who knows of any suspicious activity should contact police and their school officials immediately.
