For nearly a year now, there have been many rumors and stories floating around that a Buc-ee's could be coming to Central Arkansas.
Now, the Benton Planning Commission has officially approved both a site and utilities plan for Buc-ee's to come to the Natural State.
The massive convenience store chain will be off exit 114 along Insterstate-30 but there is no official address set just yet. This location will be the first to be built in the state of Arkansas.
Buc-ee's representatives were in attendance at the planning commission meeting held on Tuesday night and they requested three different variants for their convenience store location.
They requested to be able to put up a sign near the highway that is between 125 and 150 feet tall. The commission tabled the project from being able to move forward until Buc-ee's does a sign survey to see what the height of the sign will officially be before deciding.
However, the commission did approve landscaping to allow trees to be planted closer than 60 feet apart from one another.
The commission also approved the request for specific medians and walkways to be placed for the convenience store.
