CORNING, Arkansas — Update: The deceased victims have been identified as 37-year-old Sonter Andon, 65-year-old Rekinna Alanso, 62-year-old Santos Andon, 36-year-old Nisdy Inek, 34-year-old Jessica Inek and a three-year-old child. All of the victims were from paragould.
Arkansas State Police are now investigating a two-vehicle accident that left six people dead and one injured on April 15.
According to reports, the accident involving an SUV and tractor-trailer happened just before 12:30 p.m., at the intersection of Arkansas State Highway 135 and U.S. Highway 62 near Corning in Clay County.
Five adults and one child were pronounced deceased while at the scene by the Clay County Coroner's Office, and the driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver identified as 82-year-old Gerayne Poole of Piggott was taken to a Memphis hospital where he was treated and then later released.
The bodies of the deceased victims have been taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to be identified.
