LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — After making headlines for its reported adventures through Central Arkansas, Chrissy the emu has been contained and is finally heading home.
News of Chrissy's escapades gained traction when the Hot Springs Village Animal Control alerted the community on Nov. 19 of the loose emu.
Chrissy was spotted around the east side of the village near Balboa Gate and officials warned residents to keep their distance due to emus ability to be dangerous when loose.
But word of the emu being on the run started as early as Nov. 6 when Chrissy was reportedly spotted in the Benton area, according to a post in a Facebook group.
Then on Nov. 21 it was confirmed that Chrissy was found and contained. Now, the emu is awaiting transport to its home in Perryville.
