Cinco de Mayo is quickly approaching! It is a holiday that celebrates the Mexican army's victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican war on May 5, 1862.
While the holiday isn't widely celebrated in Mexico, the day has since evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage with fiestas, drinking, and dancing in the United States, primarily in areas with a large population of Mexican-Americans.
